We can see the economy has changed dramatically over the course of years, which has led to a spike in prices all over the world. The poor nations or to be more specific, the underprivileged class all across the world has suffered the most from it and in some cases, inflation has pushed some communities further deep into poverty.
While there exists a need for so many basic human rights like food, clothes and shelter, our major concern for today is the sky rocketing prices of education everywhere.
Education is a basic human need which allows you to live a better, happier and comfortable life than those who don’t have education. It paves a path for you to follow, guiding you along to live a better life by making use of opportunities and resources all around you. Moreover, it empowers you and prepares you to face the challenges that life brings.
When I say education is a basic need, a question pops up in my mind that should not education be accessible to everyone? Why is it that only a small population comprising privileged class can afford good education while those who don’t have the money, remain uneducated and lead a miserable life, full of struggles.
As I see it, every human being deserves a good education, irrespective of his social class. It is only fair. To put things in perspective, just imagine if you were born in a family with a different social class than yours, how is that your fault? Similarly, how is it fair to keep a kid from good education who belongs to a family that struggles financially and deprive him of a chance to improve his lifestyle? It is utter biasness to allow only a certain class to receive good education on the basis of money, and keep it far from those who can’t afford it.
Education should be free for all!
According to a survey conducted by Statista, more than 90 % people in Russia, Spain, Turkey, Serbia, China, France and many other countries agree with the notion that education should be free for all. Furthermore, there are NGOs who have been working tirelessly against the very expensive education in most countries.
Free Education is not only going to help in creating a civilized society but also uplift the country as a whole, as there will be more educated minds working towards the betterment and progression of the country.
Education is the greatest tool for the people, but unfortunately it is ruled by corruption. In Pakistan, education has become a money-making business. After gaining popularity, the schools shift their goal from providing good education to making more money by increasing tuition fees. Those who are earning hefty amounts are able to pay for their children’s education, but what about those parents who try so hard to make the ends meet, how are they supposed to pay?
Does not the kid who sells balloons at footpath have a right to good education? Or the daughter of your house help, does not she deserve a good future?
If not for everyone, at least education should be made free for our poor community who cannot send their kids to schools just because they don’t belong to rich families.
