Will AI Make Your Career Better or Harder?

For Gen Z careers, this creates both opportunities and uncertainty.

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday work faster than many people expected. From writing emails and analyzing data to designing graphics and researching ideas, AI tools for work are changing how tasks are completed.

For Gen Z careers, this creates an interesting situation. On one side, AI can remove repetitive tasks and help people become more productive. Someone with limited experience can use AI tools for productivity to brainstorm ideas, organize information, learn new concepts, or improve their work.

On the other side, AI automation is changing what employers expect from workers. Knowing how to perform a task may no longer be enough if technology can perform part of it instantly. Skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, problem solving, and decision making could become even more valuable.

This does not necessarily mean that AI will simply replace people. It may change the type of work people do. A professional who knows how to combine their expertise with AI could potentially accomplish more than someone who avoids the technology completely.

For students and young professionals, learning about AI career opportunities may therefore be less about becoming a programmer and more about understanding how AI can be applied to their particular field.

The bigger question is whether education and workplaces are adapting quickly enough. Are young people being taught how to work with AI, or are they still preparing for a job market that is already changing?

Do you think AI will create better career opportunities for Gen Z, or make finding a good job more difficult?
